‘The Walking Dead’ star Danai Gurira has posted a new image from the upcoming series spin off about Rick Grimes and Michonne.

Gurira shared on her Instagram profile a behind-the-scenes image of her co-star, Andrew Lincoln, bloodstained (Some things don’t change for Rick Grimes), on the set of the new series.

“Has anyone seen this man? #TheWalkingDead #RichonneSpinoff”, was the title of the post.

The response, unsurprisingly, was one of great enthusiasm from Gurira’s supporters. One asked how Rick and Michonne would reunite in the new series, writing: “This really is a love that moves mountains… Their romance was born in absolute adversity. It was epic“.

Earlier this year, Gurira shared some photos of herself with Lincoln and ‘The Walking Dead’ head of content Scott M Gimple, who is also showrunner of this spin off.

Gimple previously teased that the Rick and Michonne reunion series would be an “unforgettable” project.

“They are two people who have been apart for a long time.“, he pointed. “They’ve been through a lot and have to find themselves again, not to mention each other. I hope it is unforgettable.“

Plot-wise, Gimple has hinted that they’ll be heading into entirely new territory. The series will take place in a location that we have not yet seen in the universe of ‘The Walking Dead’.

“The discovery of new worlds is essential“, he added.

Before the miniseries was announced, Gurira and Lincoln were scheduled to reprise their roles in film form.
