Ferj anticipates the matches of the Carioca Championship; see new dates


The Botafogo match will be played this Wednesday

The Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation (Ferj) has decided to bring forward three games of the last round of the Carioca Championship. The challenges between Botafogo x Portuguesa, Boavista x Volta Redonda and Resende x Audax will be played on Wednesday, which would have been played on Thursday.




In the justification, Ferj said that the realization of the duel between Botafogo x Portuguesa on the same day as Flamengo x Fluminense has had the approval of the Military Police (PM) of Rio de Janeiro.

– Due to the last round of the qualifying phase, with extreme need for a simultaneous dispute between the federations, as determined by the REC, according to the day and time defined by the holder of the broadcasting rights of the match between Flamengo and Fluminense. With the agreement of the Military Police for the realization of the Botafogo x Portuguesa match, on the same day as the classic, held in the city of Volta Redonda.

With that, the duel between Vasco and Bangu will be the only one to be played on Thursday. Knowing the results, Maurício Barbieri’s team will know exactly what they need to qualify for the semi-finals of the Carioca Championship and keep fighting for the trophy.
