The actor teased his “double role” in an interview.
We all know that Hugh Jackman will reprise the role in ‘Deadpool 3’, starring Ryan Reynolds. This will be the first official appearance of both Deadpool and Wolverine in the canon Marvel Cinematic Universe, after originally starring in a series of Fox-owned titles.
Shawn Levy, who helmed “Free Guy” and “The Adam Project” with Reynolds and insisted on Jackman’s return as Wolverine for his films, directs “Deadpool 3″, which will officially join the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the purchase of 20th Century Fox by Disney. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote the first two “Deadpool” movies, are returning to write the third.
After Revealing Wolverine Will Be “Angrier” Than Ever In Deadpool 3, and that he damaged his vocal cords from growling so much, Jackman has also dropped a hint as to how his character will fit into the new film, as well as the MCU as a whole. Although his character died in “Logan,” Wolverine’s third standalone film, Jackman said the next “Deadpool” movie takes place before his death and the timeline won’t be affected. Jackman also told Wallace that he will spend six months training exclusively for him to return as Wolverine in top form.
During In a recent interview with Le Parisien, Jackman mentioned that he is currently preparing for a “double role” in the film, suggesting that there will be multiple versions of Wolverine on screen. Considering that Loki, Spider-Man: No Homecoming, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumaniah paved the way for multiple variants of the same person to appear in the MCU, it stands to reason. to think that some reality hopping tricks will be used to introduce the X-Men into the main continuity.
It’s unclear if Jackman will play Wolverine in any of the MCU properties that extend beyond Deadpool 3., or if the events of that movie could lead to circumstances where he could pass the metal claws on to another actor who could make the character his own. Speculation about who the MCU version of Wolverine might be has been ongoing ever since Marvel Studios picked up the rights to the X-Men, with the names of Taron Egerton, Zac Efron and Daniel Radcliffe being thrown around again and again.
