This is all we know about the new Ninja Turtles animated movie, but the most important thing is missing: How will they translate “cowabunga” this time?
The Ninja Turtles thing doesn’t make any sense.. I mean, they are turtles, and they are ninjas. And, besides, they live in the sewers, they eat pizza, they do martial arts, they are trained by a rat and They are named after great Italian Renaissance artists. But, despite (or because of) this, they have been a worldwide phenomenon for almost 40 years.
It all started as a comic series in the mid-1980s created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Lairdand soon after came the television series, action figures, in video games and, of course, action movies.
In 2014 they lived a reboot opposite Megan Fox in a couple of live-action and CGI movies in which its “realistic” design was more scary than laughable, but we all remember the 90s movies with the crappy special effects, the humanoid costumes and his wild humor. One of the myths of our childhood was chanting with them “De puta madre!”, the incredible Spanish translation of his most characteristic war cry: “Cowabunga”.
THIS is the moment in which I completely lost my innocence: The final scene of the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie in which everyone yelled “DE PUTA MADRE”. To the genius who came up with the idea of translating the “cowabunga” for a “de puta madre” I only wish him all the best in this life. https://t.co/C2QT1cdZhQ

Now they return with a new animated film that exploits its original design in a more youthful way and update your tone to the new generationsand he will do it hand in hand with other “hooligans”: Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, those responsible for ‘The Sausage Party’, ‘The Boys’ and ‘Preacher’. They will have to control themselves, since the movie will be aimed at a more childish audience than they are used to.
