‘Shazam: The Fury of the Gods’: So have been the first reactions to the film

Will it live up to the first movie?

‘Shazam! ‘The Fury of the Gods’ is about to hit theaters (after a long wait and many changes in its release date) and the first reactions to the DC sequel have already appeared.

In the new movie, Billy Batson and his foster brothers, now capable of transforming into superheroes, face off against the Daughters of Atlas, who have come to take away their powers.

Before your premiere, March 17the sequel has been presented to critics, who have shared their opinions on social networks.

Gabriella Geisingerassistant film editor of Digital Spytweeted:

“#ShazamFuryOfGods is a hilarious buddy comedy starring Djimon Hounsou and Jack Dylan Grazer. Unfortunately, you have to watch ‘Shazam 2’ to see it. Few bright spots bogged down by a murky special effects battle in the final act”.

However, not all opinions are so hopeless. Other attendees had a more positive reaction, praising the film and rating it “stimulating“, or highlighting Rachel Zegler as an actress who steals the viewer’s attention.

In The Movie PodcastThey tweeted: “#ShazamFuriaDeDioses is HILARIOUS! David F. Sandberg puts together a captivating and seriously funny story that can be celebrated with the whole family. Rachel Zegler, Jack Dylan Grazer and Dijmon Hounsou are the standouts for me. ‘The Fury of the Gods’ is PLENTY of FUN!”

#ShazamFuriaDeDioses is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in the movies. Full of comedic charm and heart, there’s a lot to love about this team.. @LucyLiu, Helen Mirren and @rachelzegler are an unstoppable force and a joy to behold. @PonySmasher break the mold!”

Eric Eisenberg via CinemaBlendHe commented: “‘Shazam! ‘The Fury of the Gods’ is a fun and worthwhile sequel. It’s not a revolutionary comic book movie, but it wins you over with its characters and energy. It has some surprises and a sensibility that suits it very well, as well as some creative and exciting monster action.”

Joseph Deckelmeier, for ScreenRantstated: “#ShazamFuriaDeDioses is what I wanted the movie to be. The movie does a good job of balancing this great cast and is a fun superhero movie with a lot of heart. I would love to see these characters and actors continue in the #UDC. I think they may fit. Go see her.”

film critic, courtney howardalso used his profile on the platform to share his impressions of the premiere.

#ShazamFuryOfGods is a sequel super powerful that leaves no one indifferent. A super solid, super funny and super smart mix of comedy, heart and heroism. Increase the action and irreverence to a delicious point. Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu and Rachel Zegler are the most prominent. ❤️ the dragon!”

The journalist, Jamie Broadnax, added to the criticism, commenting: “‘Shazam’ continues to bet on silliness and immaturity in this sequel, which indicates that this franchise will continue to keep its fun, light and humorous movies. The sequel comes with more action, compelling villains, and a complex anti-hero.”

‘Shazam! The Fury of the Gods’ brings back Zachary Levi, Jack Dylan Grazer, Asher Angel, Adam Brody, Meagan Good, Ross Butler and Djimon Hounsou from the first filmalong with some newcomer heavyweights.

Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu and Rachel Zegler they play Hespera, Kalypso, and Anthea, respectively, also known as the Daughters of Atlas.

Last month, Mirren joked that the sequel’s plot was “too complicated” to talk about.

We’re angry goddesses in unbelievably heavy outfits,” He said. “It was very hot and very uncomfortable. In fact, Lucy [Liu] said at the end of the first day of shooting: ‘They’re trying to kill us,’ seriously“.

Actually, the film marks the first premiere of the new era of the DC Universeafter James Gunn and Peter Safran took over as co-heads of DC Studios.

In January, they unveiled the first batch of movies and TV shows that will be part of the first phase of the new era.

It’s unclear if ‘Shazam’ will return in another movie, but if the sequel is a hit, it may be.

Shazam! The Fury of the Gods’ will be released in theaters on March 17.
