Murders in the Friulian Islands: Are there any plans to continue the TV movie with Frances Haster and Jeremy Buster?

Aired tonight on France 3, “Meurtres sur les îles du Frioul” features Francis Haster (“It all starts here”) and Jeremy Buster (“Un Si Grand Soleil”) in the shoes of two father-son police officers. Will this police TV movie have the right to continue?

This is where it all begins, and well-known to Un Si Grand Soleil fans, Frances Haster and Jeremy Bunster star tonight in France 3 detective film Meurtres sur les îles du Frioul, in which they play a police duo of father and son.

Directed by Sylvie Aime (Meurtres à Toulouse), this new opus from the successful collection “Meurtres à …” begins when the famous Marcel publisher is found on the Dead Friulian Islands, in the middle of Conte de Monte’s theatrical performance. -Christo.

Victor Marian, the young SRPJ captain from Marseille, who is in charge of the investigation, is surprised to find his father, Pierre Marian, the legendary retired Lyon commissioner, at the crime scene. The victim was a former military service comrade who had not seen him in 50 years. Pierre was therefore appointed as a consultant in the investigation. Which is not to the taste of Victor, who did everything he could to get rid of this overly catchy father.

The killings on the Friulian Islands, which also feature Myra Bitut, Avi Marciano (Plus belle la vie), Natalie Russell (I promise) and Diane Robert in her cast, are apparently largely due to the scenery and the central father duo of the cops. And a child who will confront the mysteries and unspoken things left in the past.

Will viewers be able to find Pierre and Victor Marian, played by Frances Haster and Jeremy Bunster, in the sequel soon? The two actors interviewed on the subject during the 2021 Monte Carlo Film Festival strongly hope that this is the case, even if no project has been launched at the moment, as the collection “Meurtres à …” has the peculiarity that it is composed incompatible with each other. And thus prevents the repetition of its various characters.

“Obviously, we want to go back, to be the director of the same team, the same director.” Francis Huster responds without hesitation, before adding that he hopes France 3 will make an exception to get the Marianne Cops duo back on screen.

“Perhaps the channel will change its mind. We fell in love with this duo and it is so successful that we hope there will be a sequel, of course”. And responds to feelings from his on-screen partner.

“We really hope to see a new TV movie again”Admits Jeremy Buster. “It’s quite rare for this alchemy and this osmosis to be on the set, so fast. And when it happens to us, we want to keep going, we want to keep going. Because we know we still have it on our feet, ‘ Go even further and explore other things. It would be good to have a sequel “.

It remains to be seen, then, what point the audience will reach in the killings on Frioul Islands this evening on France 3, and whether the channel’s possible success will motivate it to once again order a sequel.
