‘Creed III’ Has References To ‘Dragon Ball Z’ And ‘Naruto’: Michael B. Jordan Admits It

Michael B. Jordan was depressed after filming ‘Black Panther’, but managed to move on and made his directorial debut in ‘Creed III’, a film in which he also stars.

In it, he shares credits with Jonathan Majors, who brings to life Damian Anderson, Adonis Creed’s childhood friend who returns to his life to challenge him in the ring.

It’s true that it’s a story about boxing, but the reality is that Michael B. Jordan (who you can see in “Fruitvale Station” for free on ViX) was inspired by various acclaimed anime to create the story of “Creed III” .

Adonis and Damian’s relationship from ‘Creed III’ was inspired by ‘Naruto’, ‘Dragon Ball’ and other anime.

In an interview with ‘Polygon’ Michael B. Jordan confessed all the famous anime references he got when creating the story of ‘Creed III’.

He said that his biggest reference to create the feud between Adoni and Damian in his new movie was Naruto and Sasuke from “Naruto”, since they are great friends turned rivals.

However, he stated that characters from other anime also helped shape this relationship between the protagonists of “Creed III,” such as Goku and Vegeta from “Dragon Ball Z” and Bakugo and Midoriya from “My Hero Academy.”

“When you watch anime, there are all these same tones and themes and emotions between them, which boils down to challenging a hero and usually having a best friend or rival who is the one who challenges them in a lot of ways. . There are many different ways that anime revisits these themes and emotions.”
