Telegram update announced on Thursday (8) refines power saving mode with more options, introduces new animated emojis and more
OR telegram received another update this Thursday (8). In the quest to optimize performance on low-power mobile phones, the messenger finally lets you automatically turn off animations and other visual assets. The pack also introduced new animated emojis and more granular media (audio and video) playback speed.
- Telegram is the second most used messenger in the world, the website points out
- Telegram Desktop gets support for profile emojis
Customizable economy mode
The first of the new features is the more refined control of the effects of the application to save battery and improve the app’s performance, which is extremely useful for those with less powerful mobile phones. Battery saving mode can now be activated automatically when the phone reaches a certain percentage of charge.
The visual changes of Eco mode can also be fine-tuned to an advanced degree. Users can decide exactly what to turn off to save resources, such as video and GIF autoplay, sticker and emoji animations, UI effects, and more.
advanced speed control
Telegram has long supported accelerated audio and video playback, and this update makes this tool even more useful. The user can now choose any playback speed between 0.5x and 2.5x.
To select one of the custom values, the user must hold and tap the speed icon to activate the slider.
Automatic sending of invitation links
When you try to add people to groups that don’t allow surprise additions, Telegram will automatically send an invite link. The invite link allows the user to preview the content before entering the chat, allowing them to choose whether it is worthwhile (or not) to join the chat.
New animated, interactive and reaction emojis
The update also added more options to Telegram’s huge emoji catalog. New animated emojis, interactive emojis and reactions have been introduced to enhance conversation.
More news from Telegram
In addition to these bigger new features, Telegram has also received a number of refinements to refine the app experience. The other changes highlighted by the platform are:
- Small group reading times: You can control the reading times of your submissions in chats with up to 100 people
- Dynamic sorting of sticker packs: Sticker packs can be sorted by usage or fixed location
- Now bots can have names and descriptions translated into multiple languages
- On iOS, users can mark all chats in a folder as “Read” at once
- More than 400 bugs have been fixed
gradual update
The latest Telegram package is distributed to all users from the announcement of the platform. If none of the news has appeared to you yet, it’s worth checking play store and go AppStore if updates are available.
