MP Duda Salabert refutes transphobic speech by Nikolas Ferreira and blows a ‘kiss’

A federal deputy said Nikolas’ hatred was unable to halt his trajectory

Duda Salabertfederal deputy for the PDT, rebutted the transphobic speech delivered by fellow federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira last Wednesday, 8, Women’s Day.

During his speech to the plenary of the Chamber, Duda repudiated Ferreira’s comment, in which makes fun of transgender women. He also reflected on how Brazil is the country where most of the transvestites and transsexuals on the planet are killed.

“It is rare for a transvestite to be killed with one shot in Brazil, just with a knife. It is a hate crime, and it is this hate structure that excludes us from the formal labor market, as 90% of transvestites are prostitutes, it is this hate structure that excludes us from the class, because 91% of transvestites and transsexuals we did not finish high school, it is this structure of hatred that excludes us from the political space,” said the deputy.

Duda Salabert was keen to reiterate that the hatred of deputy Nikolas Ferreira has not been able to stop his trajectory. “Your hatred failed to stop the fact that the most voted federal deputy in Minas is a transvestite (…) So, your hatred, kisses. We continue with lots of love and poetry,” she added.

Understand the case:

On International Women’s Day, Nikolas wore a blonde wig and made fun of trans people. “Today I feel like a woman, Deputy Nikole, and I have something very interesting to talk about. Women are losing their space to men who feel like women.”

The deputy also stated that women must regain their femininity. “Have children, love motherhood, form your family. Thus you will shed light on the world and will surely be valiant women”.
