After becoming popular on the Internet, many people were surprised that Merlina Addams’ dance in “Wednesday” is full of hidden references to her moves.
Jenna Ortega knows her dance was a hit, but she seems tired of being asked to do it all the time. He finally agreed to do it, though not in the way we all thought.

Jenna Ortega did Wednesday’s viral dance again
Earlier on the 2023 Golden Globes red carpet, a reporter asked Jenna Ortega to do the Merlina Addams dance. The actress responded with a resounding “I don’t remember,” along with a face of obvious displeasure.
Let’s remember that the dance went viral on social networks, and even fans created different versions of this epic scene.
Now, in a promo for Saturday Night Live, where Ortega will make her hosting debut, the comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy once again asked her to do the Merlina Addams dance (which, by the way, reveals about who was the villain ) of the series).
The trio of comedians, in the dress worn by the young Adams at the prom, tried to hide their disappointment at the actress’ refusal.
Eventually, Jenna agreed to do it, but very forcefully and with zero desire, while the Please Don’t Destroy guys were mesmerized.
Although this is a parody and its purpose is to entertain the audience, it doesn’t take away from the fact that Jenna Ortega is probably already tired of being recognized for her viral dancing in addition to her acting talent.
Jenna Ortega regrets Wednesday’s moves
This isn’t the first time Jenna Ortega has spoken about her disagreement with her character’s moves on the Netflix series, despite the fact that she invented them herself.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in January 2023, the actress revealed that she regrets some of her moves and even spends some nights thinking about what she could have done differently:
Jenna Ortega will host Saturday Night Live on March 11, where The 1975 will make a guest appearance. Will the actress repeat her viral dance from “Wednesday”?
