The “Scream” saga is in its sixth installment with a young cast led by Jenna Ortega as Tara, but many of the actors from the first film have remained close to the franchise.
27 years after the release of the first part of ‘Scream’ and after several actors returned for the fifth film, we share with you what has happened to the entire cast and how they have changed over the years.
Drew Barrymore as Casey Becker in ‘Scream’
In ‘Scream’ Casey (played by Drew Barrymore) is Ghostface’s first victim and although her death happens at the beginning of the film, the actress stole the movie with that scene where she talks to the killer on the phone.
Barrymore started acting at the age of 5, which is why she has participated in many successful productions, such as ‘Miss You Already’, ‘As if it was the first time’, ‘Charlie’s Angels’, ‘Never Kissed’, ‘ Santa Clarita.” Nutrition and more.

Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott in “Scream”
In the 1996 film, Neve Campbell brings to life the protagonist Sidney Prescott, who faces some killers who use the persona of Ghostface to get revenge, torture her, and gain fame through her death.
Sidney Prescott is one of the best survivors of horror films, having appeared in all 5 films in the saga, although she did not return for the sixth in 2023 due to contractual issues.
In his career Campbell was also part of the cast of ‘Young Witches’ in 1996, also starred in ‘Wild Things’, ‘Drowning Mona’, ‘Partition’, ‘Clouds’, ‘House of Cards’ and starred in ‘The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix from 2022.
Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers in “Scream”
Gale Weathers is the reporter who investigated and stopped Ghostface’s murders and gained some notoriety for it. With her role as Gale for the sixth film in 2023, Courteney Cox is the only actress to have appeared in every installment.
But Courteney Cox is definitely best remembered for her role as Monica Geller, the obsessive chef with a compulsive cleaning habit on the sitcom Friends. A role he played from 1994 to 2004.
He has also appeared in ‘The Runner’ (1999), ‘The Longest Yard’ (2005), ‘Zoom’ (2006), ‘Dirt’ (2007–2008), ‘Scrubs’ (2009), ‘Cougar Town’ (2009 –2015) and in “Shining Vale” (2022).
The actress found love on the set of the movie “Scream” with David Arquette, because there they met, had a relationship, were married for 14 years, but divorced in 2013.
David Arquette, Officer Dewey Riley in “Scream”
Actor David Arquette is police officer Dewey Riley in 1996’s “Scream,” who is an important part of the murder investigations. Besides that he is one of those who returned to the saga in ‘Scream 5’.
The actor is known for ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, ‘Never Been Kissed’, ‘See Spot Run’ and ‘On Sacred Ground’. He is also a producer and has worked on ‘Cougar Town’, ‘Celebrity Name Game’, ‘Valerie’, ’12 Hour Shift’, ‘Ghosts of the Ozarks’ and ‘Sea Gypsies: The Plutonium Dome’.
However, there was a period when he moved away from acting to become a professional wrestler, until 2021 when he decided to retire from the sport. In addition to his daughter Coco with Courteney Cox, he is the father of two other children with his wife Christina.
Skeet Ulrich as Billy Loomis in “Scream”
In the first Scream movie, Billy Loomis was Sidney’s friend. However, it is revealed that he was also one of the killers under the Ghostface mask.
Ulrich worked with Neve Campbell on “Young Witches” (1996), has also appeared on “Jericho” (2006-2008), “CSI: NY” (2009), “Law and Order” (2010), “Robot Chicken ” (2007-2021), “Riverdale” (2017-2021) and “Blood” (2022).
The actor, who has twins with ex-wife Georgina Cates and was also married to Amelia Jackson-Grey. Likewise, he was in the limelight after a brief relationship with Lucy Hale from “Pretty Little Liars” in 2021.
Matthew Lillard as Stuart in “Scream”
Stuart in the film is another of the killers who torment the teenagers in the film. He even returned in the fifth film to record lines for the killer Ghostface.
Lillard is perhaps most recognized for his role as Shaggy, portraying the character in the live-action “Scooby Doo” films and also voicing him for several animated projects and video games.
She has also appeared in ‘House MD’, ‘The Good Wife’, ‘Halt and Catch Fire’, ‘Twin Peaks’, ‘Barkskins’ ‘Robot Chicken’, ‘She’s All That’, ‘Summer Catch’, ‘Good Girls’ . and “Critical Role”.
