Skinamarink: What does the horror movie have to do with Xuxa?

Experimental horror film has the same title as a song by Xuxa, from 2003; understand

Skinamarink: Lullaby is the director’s new experimental horror film Kyle Edward Ball. The film narrates the terrible night when two brothers, kevin (Lucas Paul) It is Kaylee (Dali Rose Tetreault), wake up alone at home. In the dark, the children realize that their parents have simply disappeared, and as they walk through the rooms, they discover that all the windows and doors are gone as well.

However, the title of the film is the same as that of a song by Xuxa, launched in 2003.

The term itself has no meaning and no translation into Portuguese. It came from a 1910 nursery rhyme written for a production by broadway call The Echo. And just like “Illariê” the term may have been used in the music of Xuxa simply for the sound. Check out the original track below:

More about Skinamarink: Lullaby

Skinamarink had a budget of around US$15,000, mostly raised through crowdfunding. The film was recorded in the house where the director grew up, in Canada, using equipment borrowed from the Film and Video Arts Society of Alberta, an institution that helps independent filmmakers.

With analog images that only increase the tension of the scenes, the film is dedicated to the assistant director of the plot, Joshua Bookhalter, who died during post-production. The film arrives in Brazil on March 23, only in theaters. Watch the trailer:
