Fluminense makes public the match against Volta Redonda with embezzlement

Due to off-field controversy involving Palmeiras athletes, William Bigode does not travel with the team to the carioca semifinal

Fluminense has released the squad for the match against Volta Redonda. Valid for the first leg of the semifinal of the Carioca Championship, Fernando Diniz’s team is looking for victory this Sunday at 18 (Brasilia time). However, he has one absence due to unusual controversy: Willian Bigode, under investigation for an alleged financial coup against former Palmeiras teammates, Gustavo Scarpa and Mayke.

After winning the Guanabara Cup last Wednesday, with a 2-1 comeback over Flamengo, Fluminense have the advantage of a draw in the two semi-finals. Volta Redonda, under the guidance of top scorer Lelê – who after Carioca will be a tricolor player – finished the consecutive points campaign in fourth place.

Expelled in the decisive match of the Guanabara Cup, Felipe Melo is also missing. Defender Manoel and left-back Jorge, both recovering, are out.

Another name that still does not sound for Fluminense is Marcelo. The club’s biggest signing for the season, the team showed up last Friday, with over 35,000 tricolors at the Maracanã. Last Saturday he held his first activities at CT Carlos Castilho.
