Last November on the platform START the first season of the Russian drama series “Black Spring”, starring young guys Gleb Kalyuzhny, Artem Koshman, Valentin Antsiferov, as well as the inimitable Nikolai Fomenko and Sergey Gilev, and each of the characters is important, necessary and necessary, each in its place. The story is very difficult emotionally – and sometimes it is felt literally on a physical level, you are so immersed in this reality that, sitting at home on the couch, you begin to empathize with the heroes so much that you give advice aloud. The focus is on high school students from a small seaside town, many of them from psychologically dysfunctional families, all of whom have problems that are standard for this age: love trials and generational conflicts with parents. But the teenagers find a non-trivial solution to resolve disagreements – they create a closed dueling club that exists according to the laws of justice and honor. Adult types are also very bright: a policeman, a businessman in the style of the 90s and an official running for the mayor’s office. It is very captivating that all the characters are multifaceted – no sharply negative or positive characters. It turned out boldly and brightly – the story is addictive to the fullest!

If you are watching the biographical fantasy series “Korol i Shut” on “Kinopoisk”, dedicated to the history of the horror-punk band of the same name and set a record for views already on the day of the premiere, I recommend supplementing your impressions with the exhibition “Punk Culture. King and the Clown” at Winzavod (open until May 31). The exposition is dedicated to the phenomenon of punk, its history in Russia and the world, and tells how this genre affects culture, fashion, art and people’s lives around the world. It turned out not as grandiose as the biopic exhibition “Viktor Tsoi. The Hero’s Way” at the Manezh, but still very seriously and on a grand scale. Interactive exhibits, archival materials, modern immersive art installations are a great opportunity to immerse yourself in a vibrant subculture and ask yourself what has replaced it: how do today’s hipsters and bloggers live?

For fans of detective stories in the best traditions of Agatha Christie, I warmly recommend a very atmospheric thriller drama “Murder according to Freud” from the writers of the series “Sherlock” with Cumberbatch: three seasons have already been released since 2019. In the story, Dr. Max Lieberman helps detective Oskar Reinhard in investigating brutal murders on the streets of Vienna in the 1900s. The main feature is that Lieberman is a student of Freud, and the topic of psychoanalysis of the personality of the suspects is especially revealed.

On March 17, the TheatreHD project, on the day of the 85th anniversary of the birth of Rudolf Nureyev, will present a premiere in St. Petersburg at the Avrora cinema: on the big screen you can see the legendary recording of the ballet “Swan Lake” with the participation of one of the greatest duets of the world ballet of the 20th century – Rudolf Nureyev and Margot Fontaine. The ballet was captured on video two years after its premiere in Vienna in 1964, in which the artists were called to bow with applause 89 times! You will get incredible pleasure, I promise – I have already seen the ballet really makes an amazing impression. Not least thanks to the costumes of the famous Greek artist Nicholas Georgiadis. In St. Petersburg, the performance will be presented by ballet historian, ballet critic, candidate of art history Olga Fedorchenko, so there will be interesting historical details and subtle comments about the secrets of the mastery of this amazing couple.
