TF1 airs the final two episodes of Avenir, the quirky fantasy series with Kev Adams, this Monday night. Co-written by the latter, along with Frank Belloc (Happy We Year), Elodie Hesme and Dave Cohen (The New Adventures of Aladdin), this 6-part fiction follows Elliot, a young hardware salesman who discovers he can communicate via email. with him 20 years ago.
He then uses this power to change his past and thereby affect his present. But he quickly realizes that the slightest change can have serious consequences for his life and the lives of those he loves.
In the final moments of the last episode, the main character, played by Kev Adams, finally manages to put his present back in place and finds the whole family happier than ever.
But while he enjoys his happiness, he discovers on television that Eva Sachs (Marilyn Lima) has become a wealthy industrialist. Just then, Elliott receives a phone call from his future self, who asks him to stop the young woman. Therefore, Avenir Season 1 ends with an open ending.
Is it possible to continue?
With a finale like this, TF1 viewers are left to wonder if Avenir is getting a second season. Kev Adams told our colleagues from Télé 7 jours that he was already developing a second burst of episodes with his co-writers.
Puremedias-affiliated TF1 has not confirmed that a season 2 has already been signed, although discussions are possible about a possible new burst of episodes, as is the case for all series launched by the company. Only auditions will tip the balance in favor of a second season.
Unfortunately, the numbers for the first two evenings of the broadcast are not necessarily in favor of the series. Only 2.84 million viewers gathered in front of their televisions for the first two episodes, and 2.68 million for the following episodes.
The half-mast figures, however, were offset by the series’ excellent score on the target for women under 50 responsible for purchasing (FRDA-50), which was 32.5% in the first evening and 28.7% last Monday.
Catch the final two episodes of Avenir this Monday, March 13 from 9:10pm on TF1.
