‘The Last of Us’ becomes the most watched series on HBO Max in Spain

‘Game of Thrones’, ‘The White Lotus’, ‘The Leftovers’… HBO has given us great stories that are already part of the history of television and current culture. This select group within television fiction has been joined by ‘The Last of Us’.

Few series that we see this year will be as well received as the one starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. The first season of the series has been a great fan attractor since its premiere on the platform on January 15. The cause is a fungus, the cordyceps, which takes over the human body and transforms them into deformed creatures and little by little, if they survive, they will go through different phases through which they carry the infection. In such a scenario we meet Joel (Pascal), a survivor of whom we have learned about his life prior to the great pandemic and who now resides in a quarantine zone in Boston. The man is hired to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie (Ramsey) out of the oppressive restricted zone. In this way, what begins as a small job soon turns into a brutal and harrowing journey, as both must traverse the United States and depend on each other for survival.

The production has several differences between the series and the original game. during these monthsalready converted into one of the best series on HBO Max, the story has given us great moments beyond the usual moments that are expected in a survival and zombie series: We delve into plots of great secondary characters like Bill and Frank in what is already one of the best episodes of the year.
