Tonight on TV: Even Wolverine has his down days sometimes

Wolverine: The Fight of the Immortal, but also a western for 3:10 Yuma, James Mangold has been asked to direct Logan, the third feature film centered on the famous clawed mutant.

Far from the spectacular galactic clashes that accompany the adventures of the Justice League or the Avengers, Logan surprises with its tone borrowed from science fiction, family drama and road movies.

Based on the comic book mini-series called “Old Logan“, in which the main character “Old Man” appears, the film tells the journey of Charles Xavier, Logan and Laura, a little girl with the same powers, in the desert landscape.

A spiritual descendant of Western heroes (lawman Josie Wells, Man of the Lost Valley, cowboys, wild horde or even ruthless), Wolverine seems more vulnerable than ever. In the title role, Hugh Jackman sports wrinkles, scars and a neglected beard.

At once dark, brutal (it actually gets an R rating in the United States) and moving, Logan is a critical success (it’s the first feature film from the comic to be nominated for an Oscar. Best Adapted Screenplay) and commercial ($616 million worldwide, including $2 million in France) ).

According to the American national newspaper USA Today, it is “Simply the best Wolverine!” – as evidenced by its average viewership rating of 4.1 out of 5 on AlloCiné.

Coming to our theaters in 2017, Logan thus brought Wolverine’s narrative arc to an end. But, irony! On September 27, his interpreter announced his big return as the character in Deadpool 3. See you in September 2024 to find her with Ryan Reynolds.
