‘A place to dream’, season 5: synopsis
We were already advancing some of the plots that will be important in the synopsis of season 5 of ‘A place to dream’, and that is that some pretty big problems are coming for the protagonists. WATCH OUT FOR SPOILERS BELOW!
The fourth season ended with a revelation that left us stunned: Charmaine confesses that the twins she is pregnant with are not Jack’s. She tells Jack and Mel when they come to her aid when she starts to feel bad, which she says is karma from her punishing her for lying. Her husband, her Todd, seems to be less involved with the family anymore, so Charmaine’s future looks more complicated than ever.
For his part, it is likely that the fifth season of ‘A place to dream’ will bring us the wedding of Mel and Jack after the marriage proposal that we saw in past episodes. Or perhaps the couple wants to wait to see Mel’s pregnancy come to fruition. What is clear is that we will continue to explore their relationship, Jack will continue his therapy to stop drinking and deal with his trauma, and Mel will have to deal with the situation at the clinic. Yes, Cameron is in love with her and has handed in her resignation, but will he actually walk away or will he think twice? We will see.
On the other hand, one must be attentive to the presence of Melissa Montgomery, who has not only been revealed as the head of the entire Virgin River criminal operation (and the head of the late Calvin), but also as Nick’s sister. Yes, Jo Ellen’s husband and co-owner of the town inn! We have no doubt that Melissa’s plans will revolutionize the landscape and bring Brady upside down, whose past continues to haunt him as he tries to build a life with Brie. And speaking of ghosts from the past: Brie’s story will turn towards a legal confrontation against her ex-boyfriend who raped her. She has finally decided that it is time to bring him to justice.
We are not forgetting other characters like Preacher, who has been reunited with Paige in the finale of the fourth season and we will have to see how Julia will fit into this situation that is already beginning to take shape as a love triangle. Also, Hope and Vernon are still as in love and old as ever, dealing with their illnesses and about to find out the secret that Denny keeps: he suffers from a terminal illness, as he confesses to Lizzie in the season finale. We already told you that curves were coming!
What awaits the future of ‘A place to dream’? Of course, there is no lack of material in the books: Robyn Carr’s literary saga already has 24 novels, so the series could go on for a long time. Knowing Netflix, we know it won’t be indefinitely, but reaching season five is quite an achievement for the platform.
