Actress Drew Barrymore (“Santa Clarita Diet”) has been chosen to host the upcoming MTV Movie & TV Awards. The news was announced in a video posted on MTV social media and by the star herself.
In the video, Drew appears dressed as the “M3GAN” doll to break the news that she will be hosting the event. The video also sees the participation of Ghostface, killer of “Scream VI”, and protagonist of the film “O Urso do Pó Branco”.
The MTV Movie & TV Awards will take place on May 7 and, according to the announcement, will feature “big moments” and “big stars.”
This year’s nominees haven’t been announced yet, but the categories often include offbeat awards like “best kiss” and “best scared fucking performance.” Winners are determined by popular vote.
Interestingly, Barrymore has already been nominated nine times for the award and has won three Golden Popcorns for Best Kiss, in “Afinado no Amor” (1998), and for Best On-Screen Team, in “As Panteras.” (2001) and “Como se Fosse la prima volta” (2004).
In 2020, she and Adam Sandler were honored as Dynamic Duo at the MTV Awards: Greatest of All Time.
She has put her acting career on hold in recent years to host the talk show ˜The Drew Barrymore Show’ which, in turn, was also nominated at the MTV Movie & TV Awards.
