Bad news for Munch fans… this lawyer with an unconventional streak, played by Isabelle Nanti, may not get a 5th season.
Season 4, broadcast in autumn 2021, attracted an average of 4.7 million viewers, figures that prompted TF1 to order a season 5 a few months later.
But it seems that the future of these new episodes is greatly compromised, especially due to Isabelle Nanti’s busy schedule.
It was during the promotion of Village des endormis, which will be broadcast on France 3 on Tuesday, March 21, that Aurelien Vicky, who plays Gaspar, returned to Munch’s future at the Télé Loisirs microphone.
“I don’t believe there will be a fifth season, but I haven’t had confirmation from anyone“, he explained. “I know how to make another TV series Didier Bourdon somewhat in the role of a punk lawyer who just started in Bordeaux and I doubt they will do more in the same genre“.
TF1 did indeed announce the start of filming last January on Darron, a forensic fiction featuring a well-known member of the unknown who follows Barry’s tenor a little whimsically, heading up the firm he founded with his brother.
But after the latter’s death, Vincent is surprised to learn that his brother has bequeathed his share to a young lawyer (Melanie Bernier), who is not part of the family circle and who gave him trouble during the last trial.
A new project that could significantly shake up Munch’s future, even if Aurélien Wiik doesn’t have confirmation from TF1. “I live with the idea that it’s over. I’m not waiting, it’s better not to be. I would love to continue, but now…“.
On October 14, 2022, Munch’s producer Jean-Sebastien Buyu told Le Film Français that “Today, after four seasons, we’re on hiatus, with no new season in the works“.
Nothing has been confirmed by TF1 yet, the trial series could return for a few episodes in the future, or for a special episode that will conclude the story of the character played by Isabelle Nanti. To be continued…
