Searches PF in investigation into deviations in contracts for works in Acre

Federal Police (PF) searched 19 addresses on Thursday, the 16th, in an investigation into suspected contract fraud by the Acre Secretariat of Infrastructure and the State Department of Roads and Highways (Deacre). The estimated damage is over R$5 million.

The contracts under investigation involve a consortium of companies in the civil construction sector. Public officials are suspected of colluding over direct procurement. Three of them have been temporarily removed from their positions. The PF did not say who they are.

Search and seizure warrants are served in four states: Acre, Amazonas, Santa Catarina and São Paulo. Justice has also suspended the right of 12 companies to participate in contracts with public bodies.

The investigation was opened by a technical note shared by the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU). The report found irregularities in Acre government contracts.

The PF says it sees evidence of criminal association with a criminal organization, procurement or contract fraud, and ideological falsehood. Penalties can go up to 21 years in prison if convicted. The operation was called “Fata Morgana”.

It is the second operation of the Federal Police that reaches the Government of Acre in a week. Last Thursday, 9, the PF launched the third phase of Operation Ptolemy. At that time, 25 servers were decommissioned. The investigation also targets suspected state contract fraud.

WITH THE WORD, THE GOVERNMENT OF ACRE

The report liaised with the Government Press Office, the Secretariat of Infrastructure and the Department of Roads and Highways. The space is open to the event.
