Born Melvin Promeneur, this young actor in his twenties grew up in Vincennes with a mother who practices figure skating and a father who is a mixed martial arts (MMA) champion. Diagnosed with dyslexia, dysorthography and attention deficit disorder, he struggles to find his place on the school bench. Like his parents, young Melvin thrived in sports, practicing basketball, capoeira and parkour before discovering breakdancing at age 12, which he fell in love with.
Becoming a breakdancer, she studied hip-hop with Delphine Schwaert and classical/jazz with Candice Alecan at Arts en Mouvements. He then continued his training at the International Dance Academy, then founded the Artiumprod collective in 2020, which brings together dancers of different styles as well as different artists to create unique content that moves between dances, short films, freestyles and photographs.
In 2022, the general public will discover it in the credits of Katell Quillévéré and Hélier Cisterne’s series, The World of Tomorrow, which traces the formation of the NTM group. Spotted on Instagram thanks to his collective Artium’s breakdancing videos, Melvin Boomer has the big task of impersonating Didier Morville aka JoeyStarr when he has no comedy experience. He attended two births: the first went well, the second was very difficult: “The baby had a respiratory problem, but everything ended well. It’s very trying, I was overcome with emotions, I cried. It took me a long time to recover.”
