‘The Last of Us’ premieres by surprise an extra episode of the first season

Spoilers for The Last of Us.

Despite The Last of Us finished its first season recently, there’s still a lot to explore in HBO’s mushroom apocalypse.

It is not a reference to a second season already confirmed, because Comic Book
reports that a surprise 31-minute behind-the-scenes documentary has been added to the collection The Last of Us from HBO Max.

The documentary premiered yesterday (March 14) on the US network and is scheduled to be repeated this month on HBO 2 and HBO Signature; Its premiere in the rest of the geographies has not yet been announced.

Under the title Making of The Last of Usthis all-access special details the herculean effort that went into adapting the iconic PlayStation video game.

Pedro Pascal (who plays Joel in the series), Bella Ramsey (Ellie), Gabriel Luna (Tommy), Anna Torv (Tess), Merle Dandridge (Marlene), Rutina Wesley (Maria), Ashley Johnson (Anna), Jeffrey Pierce (Perry) and Storm Reid (Riley) appear, as do series creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, as well as the artists responsible for the design of the infected.

Let’s hope the giraffes from Episode IX make a cameo as well.

In another order of things, Mazin and Druckmann sat this month in the official podcast of The Last of Uswhere possible changes in the second season arose.

“The moments and the characters can stay the same or change. We will do whatever it takes to move the story from one medium to another,” Druckmann said.

“We’ll also take advantage of the freedom we have on television that didn’t exist in the game, specifically the advantage of changing perspective,” Mazin revealed.

“So we’ll use what we can use in a new medium to tell that story and we’ll go through the same adaptation process. It’s us again and there’s going to be Pedro and there’s going to be Bella. And there’s going to be blood.”
