Star Wars: A huge crossover in the works with The Mandalorian and future series?

While The Mandalore Season 3 is rolling on Disney+, fans of the Star Wars saga should expect more series to arrive later this year, such as Ahsoka and the Skeleton Crew.

The first, helmed by Rosario Dawson, will focus on former Jedi Knight and former Padawan Anakin Skywalker, while the second piece, helmed by Jude Law, will follow a group of children’s space adventures.

With all these series set in the same universe and time, can we expect crossovers to see the light of day, what about The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett?

Everything is possible knowing that in 2020, Kathleen Kennedy, the president of Lucasfilm, has already hinted at a “culminating event” that would happen at some point in the future and that would end what she called the “MandoVerse”.

What is the future of “MandoVerse”?

And it looks like that huge crossover project is still on the way, if recent statements from producer Dave Filoni are to be believed. transfer. He teased that this big project won’t spell the end of The Mandalorian, and thus arrive sooner than he imagined:

“In some ways, it’s possible. It could become a climax and The Mandalorian could continue. It’s not necessarily one or the other, is it? That’s an interesting way to think about it.”

What Dave Filoni really likes about this world of the Disney+ series is the thoroughness with which they build it with as many characters, political intrigue and events as necessary for a post Return of the Jedi period and collaboration with Jon Favreau:

“I think the possibility of a big event in this period is very real, that’s all I’ll say about it. But yes, if Jon wanted to continue the ‘Mandalorian’ stories, as long as he wasn’t ruled out. From this titanic event, so they could, I think, continue . There doesn’t seem to be any lack of interest in Grogu and Mando, that’s for sure.”

While this crossover project has yet to be officially announced, Dave Filoni, as Lucasfilm’s executive creative director, has ensured that all teams involved in the series are committed to keeping the universe consistent with the already established Star Universe. Wars movies and other series:

“The good thing is that we’re all talking together creatively about where these stories are going. There’s a timeline with the whole timeline from the Phantom Menace to the rise of Skywalker. I have all these pieces in between that everybody’s involved in. So I can look at everything and I’ll discuss it with Kathleen.”

The third episode of The Mandalorian Season 3 seems to confirm this goal and this desire to further explore the Star Wars universe and its political intrigue in anticipation of this potential big crossover project, as it focuses on former Imperial scientist Pen Pershing (Omid Abtah) , which is trying to develop within the framework of the new republic.
