“Robert the Doll”, the haunted doll that seemed to have a life of its own
According to the “Ghost and Gravestones” portal, it all begins in 1906 when a boy named Robert Eugene Otto received as a gift a doll in a white navy suit and accompanied by a plush dog.
This strange object was given to him by a servant who worked for his parents in Key West, Florida, and from their first meeting the boy was so amazed that he gave it his name.
Eugene always kept his loyal friend Robert by his side and they did everything together. However, although the game seemed harmless, their parents began to notice that strange things were happening at night, for example, small footsteps and macabre laughter.
The paranormal activity began to escalate and on one occasion, when Eugene was sleeping, he reportedly woke up to see Robert sitting up and looking at him, very similar to what they say about the Annabelle doll.
Various legends emphasize that the infant spoke to his doll and received a response in a different voice. Additionally, the family’s neighbors claimed that on more than one occasion they could see the toy leaning out the window as if watching them.
Growing up and moving, Eugene took Robert to his new house and locked him in the attic, which apparently made him very angry because at night there were also noises as if the doll was alive and asking to come out.
After the death of its owner in 1974, the object remained in this place and came out of the attic again when a new family bought the old residence. In it, there was a little 10-year-old girl who did not hesitate to adopt Robert as her new toy. but he would soon regret it, as he claimed she was alive and wanted to harm her.
Netizens who researched the matter say that the Robert doll could have been cursed by the person who gave it to Eugene with black magic and voodoo, which would explain his supernatural experiences, though no one knows for sure.

“Robert The Doll” is now part of a museum in the United States
“Robert The Doll” is currently on display inside the Fort East Martello Museum in Florida, and according to several accounts posted on TikTok, those who don’t ask for permission to take a photo of the toy are experiencing a string of bad luck.
Others claim that the cameras stop working when they try to photograph him and even the employees of the venue claim that they have seen him moving, singing and laughing.
