Shootout in RS: Police find a body and 14 bricks of marijuana


The armed clash in Rio Grande do Sul left one person dead and another wounded, leading police to arrest three people with drugs in their car. The police continue to investigate the case to identify those responsible and understand the reason for the crime.

On Wednesday night (22nd), a firefight occurred in the industrial district of Farroupilha/RS, which resulted in the death of a 30-year-old man, identified as Rafael. A 21-year-old was injured in the firefight. Rafael had a criminal record, including possession of narcotics and various types of theft. The 21-year-old also had a history of drug possession. A team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) attended to the injured man, who was taken to São Carlos hospital.




After the incident, a garrison of the Military Brigade began searching the area and a vehicle of the ERS-122 was found exactly at km 60. Inside the vehicle, police found 14 bricks of marijuana. The three members of the vehicle were arrested, a 29-year-old man with a history of making threats and Maria da Penha, as well as two women, aged 20 and 35, both with police experience.

The circumstances leading up to the firefight remain unclear. The police are investigating the case to identify those responsible for the crime and understand what motivated the action. The police ensured security in the neighborhood.
