Before ‘The Last of Us’ surprised with its post-apocalyptic story, ‘The Walking Dead’ was the first successful series to introduce a world full of zombies and now, after 11 seasons, its story will continue with Maggie and Negan.
With the end of the original series, AMC has many plans to tell more stories in its walker universe, and one of the most anticipated is “The Walking Dead: Dead City.”
The new series will feature Lauren Cohan as Maggie and Jeffrey Dean Morgan in his role as Negan, but with the production trailer what has drawn the most attention is that the characters will put all their differences behind them and work together.

‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’: Trailer Reveals Why Maggie and Negan Are Teaming Up
Although “The Walking Dead” revealed how the zombie apocalypse ends, the world is still plunged into destruction by walkers and humans who have lost their humanity and are capable of anything to survive.
What the preview shows is that Maggie’s son is kidnapped by an unknown group, so she must go to Negan and her experience leading a similar group in order to save Hershel’s son.
So, now in a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, Maggie and Negan will walk the streets of New York to face a new and dangerous group of survivors.
In “The Walking Dead” Negan has his redemption and even works with Maggie despite beating Glenn to death. Even so, it becomes clear that she never forgives him, so their alliance is interesting in the new series.
The brutal trailer also shows walkers “raining down” from the sky, as one image shows zombies falling, perhaps pushed and used as a weapon by the group of survivors in New York.
As seen in “The Walking Dead”, it is possible that the walkers have evolved and in recent years have become much more dangerous and aggressive, so Maggie and Negan face the biggest challenge of their lives.
The premiere date of the new spin-off “The Walking Dead: Dead City” will be June 18, 2023. Similarly, AMC announced that the eighth and final season of “Fear the Walking Dead” will premiere on May 14.

Another series starring Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) is also in the works, which will be set in France and deal with the adventure Daryl must undertake to return home.
Finally, another series starring Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes and Danai Gurira as Michonne is in production. This is expected to arrive in 2023, although there is no estimated date.
