Scott Pilgrim’s animated series ‘Imminent’ to return full cast, Edgar Wright confirms

We are online empire and we’re here to give you movie news and make you feel good and stuff! 1-2-3-4! And if you are a Scott Pellegrino fans in particular, there are new developments that are sure to give you a big XP boost (and maybe even lower your piss level). A while back, it was reported that an anime show based on Edgar Wright’s film, adapted from Bryan Lee O’Malley’s graphic novels, was being explored, returning to Toronto’s world of former villains, fighting gangs, and so on. to unleash the power of love, video game style. But all was quiet in the Pilgrim front for some time, not an indication that the project is gone, but rather a loading bar. Because as Wright just confirmed on Twitter, the show is real, it’s “imminent,” and will also feature the film’s entire cast, once again lending their voices to the characters. Yes, yes!

In case you need a refresher, that means Michael Cera will be back as bassist Scott, with Ellen Wong as his ex Knives Chau and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Scott’s new girlfriend Ramona Flowers. Except dating Ramona means Scott now has to battle his seven evil exes: Matthew Patel (Satya Bhabha), Lucas Lee (Chris Evans), Todd Ingram (Brandon Routh), Roxie Richter (Mae Whitman), the Katayanagi twins (We not unknown if Shota Saito and Keita Saito will return) and Gideon Graves (Jason Schwartzman).

All of that, plus Kieran Culkin is back as Scott’s roommate Wallace Wells; Anna Kendrick as Scott’s sister Stacey; Brie Larson as Scott’s ex Envy Adams; Aubrey Plaza as mean girl Julie Powers; and Alison Pill, Mark Webber and Johnny Simmons as Kim Pine, Stephen Stills and Young Neil, respectively. It’s an amazing cast and amazing news that they’re all back.

As for what the series has in store, coming to Netflix? That remains to be seen, but it looks like it won’t just be a remake of Wright’s film. As the director notes, “It not only expands the universe, but also… well, look at it.” Could you incorporate more parts of the books that weren’t part of the film? Or go beyond the end of the story to continue the journeys of the characters? Will Beck Write New Sex Bob-Omb Songs? (Please say yes!) One thing’s for sure: We’ll have fun from day one. Now, does anyone know the Netflix.ca website?
