After the calm, the Corinthians team will undergo the “test by fire” with trips and decisions

Timão will cover more than nine thousand kilometers and play seven games in April

The elimination against Ituano, in the quarterfinals of the Paulistão, has left a big hole in the calendar of Corinthians, which is about to complete three weeks without competitive games. However, the month of April will be a real test by fire for the club’s cast and coaching staff.

In April alone, Timão will travel more than 9,500 kilometers round-trip to play matches in the Brazilian league, Copa do Brasil and Libertadores.

If the physical and mental wear and tear weren’t enough, the players will have little time to regain fitness in the month, as the club will play, on average, one match every four days. In March, the average was over two weeks per game.

6/4 – Liverpool-URU (F) – Libertadores

12/4 – Remo (F) – Brazil Cup

15/4 – Cruzeiro (C) – Brasileirão

19/4 – Argentinos Juniors (C) – Libertadores

4/23 – Goiás (F) – Brasileirão 4/26 – Remo (C) – Copa do Brasil

4/30 – Palmeiras (F) – Brasileirão

Despite being the start of the three main competitions, Timão has no margin for error, especially in the Libertadores, as the decline in status has increased the pressure on the team and the coach.

Therefore, the debut against Liverpool-URU, for next Thursday (6), is considered a priority by the club, which does not want to repeat last year’s embarrassment, when it lost against Always Ready, from Bolivia.

Furthermore, Fernando Lázaro is expected to suffer three losses in four of the club’s seven matches in April, as Guilherme Biro, Giovane and Pedrinho have been called up by Ramon Menezes for Brazil’s Under-20 selection friendlies, and the trend is for Alvinegro to release athletes.
