The production of ABC News Studios and Hulu includes testimonies from police, family members and actress Kristin Chenoweth as they investigate the true crime of three Oklahoma teens who were murdered their first night at a campsite.
The actress is at the center of the documentary because she was an explorer from the same group as the girls who were killed, only the day they traveled to the camp her mother did not let her go because she was ill.

In addition to Chenoweth’s testimony, the documentary Hulu includes interviews with a camp counselor, the sheriff who reopened the case, and the lawyer for an inmate who was acquitted of unclear DNA evidence.
The four-part documentary will be available in Hulu from May 24, 2022 in the United States, while its international premiere at Disney + has not yet been set.

Investigations into the crime led to Gene Leroy Hart being the first suspect in the murder, as he was a convict who had escaped from prison four years earlier and his and investigators’ belongings were found in a cave near the camp.
Hart was arrested on April 6, 1978 and charged with murder. However, he was acquitted because the hair found on adhesive tape at the crime scene and the sperm on the victims did not turn out to belong to him.
Neesweek reported that authorities in 2022 had conducted new DNA tests by 2019 and the results of the tests ruled out possible suspects and reiterated the guilt of Hart, who died in prison in 1979 of a heart attack.
