The saga returns without Jack Sparrow
Who was going to tell us that one of the Disney World attractions was going to become one of the highest-grossing movie sagas in history? It’s been 20 years since it premieredPirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl‘ and, since then, the ‘piratil’ saga has had 4 more installments, all of them with greater or lesser success at the box office, but they have coincided in something: they all have had a real protagonist, Captain Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp.
The last of the installments, ‘Salazar’s Revenge’, premiered in 2017 and, despite the fact that it raised almost 800 million dollars, it was not the success that Disney expected, so they have decided to relaunch the saga with a kind of reboot-sequel What will this ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 6’ be, of which we will tell you more below.
The new project will continue to be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, who has confirmed that there are two films in the works in the sagaand that, the franchise takes a new path after knowing that Johnny Depp will not be in the next adventures.
But fans can rest assured, the adventure continues without Jack Sparrow.
‘Pirates of the Caribbean 6’ release date
There is no official release date yet, but the franchise has historically released its movies in May or July. While we can speculate that it will arrive in the spring, the year is another story. With a gap of four years between the third and fourth movies and six years between the fourth and fifth, we could expect even more for the sixth if this trend continues.

Who will be in charge of writing the new story is the screenwriter of ‘Birds of Prey’, Christina Hodson, who will take over the script for the sixth film.
