The trailer for Extraction 2 puts Chris Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake in an exclusive prison riot

Who needs a mystical hammer? Or a magic ax? Or an elegant red cape? Chris Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake other Action megahero, of course, judging by the intense new trailer for the Russo Brothers-produced Netflix sequel, Extract 2. In those two minutes alone, we see Rake (yes, that’s his character’s real name, I promise) take what should surely be a fatal blow to the head, hitting a police officer with his own anti-shield. boys while his arm is on fire, and all this in one fell swoop, following the mercenary as he tries to free a woman from prison. Oh, and then shoot down a helicopter in the snow. Come on, brighten up your Monday afternoon. See it below:

As you may remember from the 2020 climax ExtractionSpoiler alert, if you haven’t seen it yet.although this is shown via flashbacks in the trailer. Tyler was shot in the neck and fell off a bridge, with the audience uncertain whether he lived or died. It turns out he did both: as a voiceover tells us in this new preview, he was “clinically dead just nine months ago.” Yet, he’s back here, after struggling to heal him to embark on a new mission: this time, he’s saving the abused family from a ruthless Georgian gangster. It’s an incredibly well-crafted trailer, with minimal dialogue from Hemsworth, and mostly shot from a prison fight in which the camera swings in one seemingly continuous shot. Most importantly, it promises plenty of action. (Additional action, so to speak.) Rake-fu, anyone? John Wick would be jealous.

Extraction 2 arrives on Netflix June 16.
