Chris Pratt Responds to Criticism of Super Mario Bros. The Movie: ‘Watch the movie’

Super Mario Bros. The film premieres next Thursday, 6, in Brazilian theaters

When Chris Pratt was announced as the voice of Mario in animation Super Mario Bros. The film, which premieres next Thursday, April 6, in Brazilian theaters, the actor received several criticisms for not matching the character or having some Italian roots. Now, he has hit back at those comments and defended his own work.

During an interview with ExtraTV the actor explained how casting him as the iconic character from the nintendo it will make sense after “watching the movie. In all honesty though, you’ll probably need to watch it twice.”

“It’s a passionate fan base and [as críticas] make sense. I understand, I’m part of it,” continued Pratt. “You don’t want someone to come along and cynically rip you apart like a movie to make money. I understand that perfectly. And there were so many hearts and souls and minds dedicated to making sure that didn’t happen.”

The movie really honors the video game. He honors the world of Mario. It pays homage to the characters and is very promising as to what we can expect in the next 10 years, as a whole universe of this type of film. They’re super nostalgic, it’s really fun and the lighting knows what he’s doing.

Furthermore, Chris Pratt took the opportunity to talk about his relationship with animation: “Now that I have children, I need to see all animated films, whether they are good or not, so I am very grateful when a great animated film is released, and that’s it. I hope there are more .”
