to remember

In anticipation of the Mario wave hitting theaters this week, another adaptation of the iconic video game has hit the big screen in the United States. It’s Dungeons & Dragons: Honor of Thieves, released this weekend across the Atlantic (and in France on April 12). The film takes the first place in the charts and starts with $38.5 million.

Like our colleagues Boxoffice ProCompared to other action-fantasy comedies in recent years, it’s 6% more than 2017’s Jumanji ($36.1 million) or even 27% more than the last Shazam! Wrath of the Gods ($30.1 million)Note that it’s also far more compelling than the first big-screen adaptation of this video game, which came out in 2000: Dungeons & Dragons brought in $7.2 million.

Many sequels are then ranked. Only two new ones are posted, besides Dungeons & Dragons. Among them, the Easter film His Only Son and the thriller One Thousand and One, with no release date in France. The ranking is closed by another Easter film, Jesus Revolution.
