Warning, this article contains many spoilers for upcoming episodes. If you don’t want to understand anything, don’t read!
Last night, TF1 aired a new season of I Promise You, the French adaptation of It’s Us, hosted by Camille Lou, Hugo Becker, Marilou Berry, Guillaume Labe and Narcisse Mame.
If the last season was marked by many moments rich in emotions, it primarily lifted the curtain on the tragic circumstances of Paul’s death. Indeed, after saving his family from a boat fire, the patriarch of the Gallo family eventually succumbed to cardiac arrest caused by excess water in his lungs. A defining moment that we promise fans won’t soon forget.
As soon as the gray areas surrounding his death are revealed, we’re already starting another mystery still connected to Father Gallo. An opportunity to delve into the past of this man who clearly had a lot to hide.
Remember, at the end of Season 2, Paul received a mysterious postcard signed “PP” that read:I have not forgotten youThe first of a long list of cards as mysterious as the one on which they were written. We must meet again“.
But who is the author of these mysterious postcards to Paul?
If we go by appearances, we are quick to believe that Paul was unfaithful to Florence, but the reality is clearly not what we think.
And for good reason, every card Paul receives is sent by Alexandre Gallo (Francois Pouron), who is none other than his brother. And if the initials of the signer of these letters do not match his name, it is because they actually refer to Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s work The Little Prince. A book that meant a lot to two brothers.
Alexander had a statue of the Little Prince as a good luck charm. Throughout their lives, Alexander and Paul would pass the following items to each other at important moments in their lives to bring luck to each other.
As Paul’s past slowly unravels, why has he never told his family about his brother? You don’t have to miss anything from the next episodes to find out!
