The cutter (almost) fell. We learned last night that Warner Studios was in talks with J.K. Rowling to bring the bespectacled wizard to life on our screens. If the deal goes through, Harry Potter will return not as a film, but as a TV series for the HBO Max platform. So the idea is to adapt each book in one season. An ambitious project that will span at least 10 years (for 8 seasons) and that will make it possible to relaunch this lucrative franchise.
First Watch fans on Twitter are understandably quite unhappy with the announcement. But the return of Harry Potter to our screens – with an all-new cast – will also allow a new generation to discover the adventures of Hogwarts students. Advances in special effects could also bring a plus… and make us forget to go through some of the terrible scenes of the first part (hello, broom class and reminder!).
And you, are you more for or against this new serial adaptation of Harry Potter? Feel free to vote in our poll above and share your reasons in the comments!
