After the character posters were released this afternoon, here’s a new trailer for this 100% fun movie coming to our air-conditioned theaters this summer: The Barbie Movie!
Adapted from the famous toys, the feature film seems to play mockery to the maximum and emphasizes rosy humor and fantasy. Along with these new images, we can hear the Beach Boys hit, Fun, fun, fun.
In addition to Ryan Gosling in the main role of Kenny and Margot Robbie, other versions of Barbie will be played by Issa Rae (Barbie the President), Kate McKinnon (Barbie the Gymnast), Dua Lipa (Barbie the Mermaid), Alexandra Shipp (Barbie the Writer), Ritu Arya (Barbie the Journalist), Harry Neff (Barbie’s Doctor), Emma Mack (Barbie’s Physicist), Anna Cruz Kane (Barbie’s Judge), Sharon Rooney (Barbie’s Lawyer) and Nicola Coughlan (Barbie’s Diplomat). The latter, who plays Penelope on the hit series The Bridgerton Chronicle, has yet to be announced for casting.
Directed by Greta Gerwig, Oscar-nominated Doctor Marty’s Daughters in 2020 and Lady Bird in 2018, from a screenplay co-written with Noah Baumbach, the film follows a Barbie doll who thinks she’s not “perfect” enough, who goes on an adventure in St. real world Co-produced by Mattel Films, Barbie will hit theaters on July 19, 2023.
