Uber has partnered with bike rental startup Tembici, which operates the popular orange bikes in the Itau, to make normal and electric bicycles available on its mobility platform. The project will launch in Recife, with expansion to Brasilia, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and São Paulo on the way. In February, the startup closed a BRL 160 million funding line with the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) increase its fleet of electric and common bicycles in Brazil, as well as expand investments in technology and innovation.
