The Samsung AU7700 is a mid-range TV from Samsung and was announced in 2021 but is still in high demand in stores.
The Smart TV portfolio of SAMSUNG it is quite vast and, every year, the South Korean launches different models, from the most basic to the most advanced. the line Crystal AU7700 was launched in 2021 and stands out in the middle segment, not only of the brand, but also among the competitors.

This is due to the cost-effectiveness offered by the series. It has good image definition and has some resource cuts to reach the market with a slightly more competitive price.
You can still find it easily, both on the manufacturer’s official website and in other shops, and the more affordable price makes it quite attractive. But is this TV still worth buying in 2023, almost two years after its launch? I’ve been using this model for a few months now and I’ll explain here if it’s still worth it.

Screen, picture and sound quality
The Samsung AU7700 Smart TV is available in different size options, ranging from 43 to 75 inches. It features a VA panel, which is common in South Korean intermediate or entry series. Connected to this, it has the Crystal 4K processor, which offers good quality with Crystal UHD resolution – or 4K, as you prefer to call it.
The display lags far behind the brand’s QLED models, but it is still possible to have a lot of image definition. The contrast is also very good for the category and suffers more for displaying very dark content, especially if there is a lot of reflection, such as daylight for example. If you’re considering buying one, it might be best to place it in areas that won’t interfere with your windows.
While it’s a more affordable model, it has features found in the brand’s premium lines, such as support for HDR10+ content.
Sound quality is also good. It’s not quite as loud and boomy, but you can still hear everything clearly enough and family movie sessions can be enjoyed comfortably enough without everyone having to check themselves when it’s time to laugh out loud with a comedy, for example.
As far as audio features are concerned, it has Dolby Digital Plus and has a total audio output of 20W RMS with two audio channels. If you want, you can connect external devices via Bluetooth, such as speakers or soundbars.
streaming apps
The Samsung TV app store is one of the most comprehensive on the market. With AU7700 you will have access to most streaming services available in Brazil, such as NetflixPrime Video, HBO Max, Globeplay, disney In addition, Star Plus, Paramount Plus and apple TV plus.
In fact, there are few notable absences from the South Korean interface. Of the apps I use – or know about – the ones I miss the most are the NBA and F1 streaming apps, as well as Crunchyroll, which has a huge catalog of anime and manga.
The applications are also updated frequently and the main ones I use have their respective interfaces well optimized and smooth.
stream game
The TVs launched by Samsung in 2022 have already arrived with a feature that is very welcome to the gamer community, namely game streaming. To do this, all you need is an Xbox Game Pass subscription to access a huge catalog of games from Xbox consoles. Microsoft without actually buying an Xbox.
The AU7700, even though it’s a 2021 model, received an update a few weeks ago and is now able to play from the cloud as well. To do this, just plug in a wireless controller, which can come from the Xbox itself or even from the ps4 – and subscribe to Microsoft’s service. We have tested this feature and you can check how the experience was if you can play console-free on compatible TVs.
It’s important to note, however, that it only received the Xbox game streaming asset. Even newer models, like the 2022 flagship, can stream games Nvidia GeForce now.
digital assistants
One of the main attractions of the AU7700 is the versatility that TVs in the line have for voice commands. It has support for Bixby, from Samsung itself, but is also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant.
This way, if you have a device amazon echo or Google Nest at home, you can control your TV without having to pick up the remote. You can increase or decrease the volume, change channels, turn on/off the TV and perform other settings by simply activating the digital assistant of your choice.
Usability and updates
The AU7700 series still offers good usability, with a very fluid interface. In some cases, there may be a slight lag when navigating between apps on the home screen, but this can be explained by the amount of apps I have installed on my TV.
Overall though, there is nothing to worry about while using it. It is based on the Tizen operating system and you will hardly notice crashes or worrying stuttering while searching for an application or service you want to use.
The TV is also quite agile, but this will depend more on the optimization of each one. Within the most common streaming platforms, however, the AU7700 performs very well and manages to open a series or a film very quickly.
After all, is it still worth buying a Samsung AU7700 in 2023?
Even after nearly two years of its launch, the Samsung AU700 TV still offers good advantages, such as support for multiple digital assistants, good picture and sound quality, and very attractive features.
The TV still gets occasional updates and has even received support for streaming games via the cloud for those with an Xbox subscription, something that was limited to 2022 TVs and has started arriving for 2021 lines.
The amount of apps available for TV is also very large and on it you will be able to access the main streaming services. Some notable absences are for well-targeted apps, such as Crunchyroll for those who love anime or NBA and F1, for example, for those who follow basketball games or Formula 1 races.
The price, however, is almost on the same level as its successor, the BU8000 line. Comparing the 50-inch model, for example, the AU7700 has a price well stabilized between R$ 2,200 and R$ 2,300 over the last forty days, while the BU8000 of the same size costs around R$ 2,500, with no major changes over the same period .
So you might be better off spending a little more on getting a newer TV with very similar specs and also getting a SolarCell remote controlled model — which uses no batteries and charges with sunlight or even the lamp. home.
However, if you really want to save that BRL 200 or BRL 300 difference between one model and another, the AU7700 still does the job well and stands out well among Samsung’s in-between TVs.
