After his success with cry VI (which set a franchise opening record at the box office), one would think that the Radio Silence film collective, made up of directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, as well as producer Chad Villella, would stick with Paramount and Ghost face. But they’re turning that success into an opportunity for a new secret monster movie for Universal.
Second Expirationit’s something the trio have wanted to do since their first attempt Scream, but the success of that film led them to put it on hold to focus on the sequel. Now back to the monster movie.
There are no details on the new film, except that it will offer a new take on one of Universal’s classic creatures. The screenplay originated with Stephen Sheilds and has since been revised since Scream co-author Guy Busick.
I hope this is as fun as the likes of The invisible man and the next Renfieldbringing a bloody horror comedy to screens this week.
