Grey’s Anatomy – Season 18: Where were we before the break?

After almost a year of waiting, TF1 will broadcast the finale of season 18 of Grey’s Anatomy this Wednesday, April 12. In May 2022, after a few weeks on air, the channel actually decided to stop airing the series to make way for another medical fantasy.

Therefore, starting with Season 18, Episode 16, viewers will be able to find the doctors at Gray Sloan Memorial this Wednesday night. In this case, a little recap of the events of episode 15 is in order to remember where we were before the break.

Gray Sloan’s memorial is in disarray

Three major events collided in this decisive episode. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) had to go to the Medical Accreditation Board at the hospital, which had to decide if the internship program could continue after the events of the previous episodes.

In turn, Webber (James Pickens Jr.), who heads the program, invited David Hamilton (Peter Gallagher) to Gray Sloan to determine if the boss had a place in the operating room.

Nick (Scott Speedman) was also in Seattle to perform a xenotransplantation, or transplantation of a modified pig kidney into a human.

Meanwhile, Schmidt (Jake Borrell) discovers to his horror that it is because of his mother that the internship program is in the hot seat. But during the argument, the latter fell badly on the stairs.

Schmidt called the fire department, but he still had to act before they arrived if he wanted to save his mother’s life. He then called Weber, who guided him over the phone to perform minor surgery.

Back at the hospital, Webber, Bailey and Maggie discover that Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) has been offered a permanent position in Minnesota. Upon hearing the news, Bailey found Meredith to give her the soap.

She then tells him how disappointed she is that Meredith was kicked out of the program, before telling her that she’s still the same little girl who follows the titular beauty wherever she goes. When an argument broke out between the two doctors, Bailey snapped out of a panic attack. Unfortunately, this confrontation forces Meredith to make a drastic decision.

Suspended program

After speaking with Weber, who gave a passionate speech about the importance of teaching and his love for developing the careers of future surgeons, the board recognized the family spirit that emanates from Gray Sloan.

Unfortunately, despite this positive review of the hospital, all they saw was that there weren’t enough doctors to run the internship program properly.

Therefore, the program was postponed for testing. Bailey was given a list of improvements and changes to make before the board returns in a few weeks to reassess the situation and make a final decision. In turn, Weber was considered to continue to be a doctor.

Meredith is ready to leave Seattle

An argument between Meredith and Bailey made the Doctor think about his future at Gray Sloan. She realized that staying at the hospital where she interned had its share of problems. His teachers will never see him as anything other than he was when he started.

He will never really be able to let go of the past. In the final moments of episode 15, she revealed to Nick that she was ready to start her life again somewhere else and that she was going to accept David’s offer.

Will Meredith really get over herself and settle down in Minnesota? Will the residency program close its doors? Answer in the next episodes of Grey’s Anatomy season 18, which airs on Wednesday, April 12 at 9.10pm on TF1.
