There is a lot of confusion and misinformation about the taxation of Chinese retailers in Brazil, according to Finance Minister Fernando Haddad.
In an interview with Globonews in China, where he accompanies President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Haddad was asked about the government’s decision to end the tax exemption on international orders up to $50 as part of an effort to tax purchases by major international retailers.
According to Haddad, there are complaints of unfair competition from some sites, highlighting that, when there is no isonomy in competition, the Brazilian economy suffers.
