Spotify has launched Broadcast-to-Podcast, a tool that automates the process of turning radio broadcasts into podcasts.
This Thursday (13th), the Spotify has launched a tool that helps content creators turn live streams into podcasts. Called “Broadcast-to-Podcast” (or B2P), the platform’s new publishing engine will make it easy to quickly convert entire recordings into podcast episodes, leveraging the production to reach different audiences.
- Spotify will have highly advanced artificial intelligence to accurately predict songs
- Spotify gets a new info panel on Windows
The tool’s technology comes from Whooshkaa, a company acquired by Spotify in 2021, and can be used by users of Megaphone, a platform for businesses and professional podcasters.
Normally. the process of adapting broadcasts to podcasts is somewhat complicated and, according to Spotify, can take hours. With B2P, the work is much simplified, as it automates the download of the episode, the removal of the advertising, the insertion of the markers and the upload on the target platform.
“After a simple one-time setup process, B2P will automatically create new podcast episodes from previously streamed content, making it easier than ever for broadcast publishers to reach new audiences with their product,” the company said in the announcement.
Once imported, the B2P tool will help the publisher re-place ads and monetize the content. The platform will identify the excerpts for adding advertisements and gives the user complete freedom to review these moments.
Large customers will take advantage of the novelty
By making podcast production easier, Spotify is encouraging big megaphone-using brands to adopt the format to repost content and reach new audiences. Currently, companies like FOX News Audio are already using the B2P mechanism to automate podcast publishing.
Megaphone, however, is not free. The service starts at US$99 (about R$490 in direct conversion) per month.
