Now, in 2022, Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment have confirmed that its sequel, ‘Twisters’, will finally be a reality and its release date has been confirmed. we can enjoy the movie (if everything goes well) on July 19, 2024, as reported Collider.
The script for this sequel to the success of the late 90s will be written by Mark L. Smith, who we know for signing ‘The Revenant’ in 2015. Frank Marshall, also responsible for ‘Jurrasic World: Dominion’, will produce.
As for the cast that will lead the film, there are still no official confirmations but, as he has commented Variety, Glen Powell would be in talks to give life to one of the main characters of the tape. If his participation is confirmed, the actor would accompany Daisy Edgar-Jones in front of the story, whom we have met in ‘Normal People’.
The original film, which went on to gross a total of $494 million at the worldwide box office, starred Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. It was directed by Jan De Bont (‘Speed’), with Steven Spielberg in executive production and with a script by Michael Crichton (‘Jurassic Park’).
