“‘Ohana’ means family, and family means we will always be together.” If you don’t know what I’m talking about right now all of a sudden, it’s because you haven’t seen ‘Lilo & Stitch.’ And if you haven’t seen ‘Lilo and Stitch,’ stop reading this right now and put it on Disney+.

Disney’s animated classic tells a charming story about a girl with poor social skills and an alien created to destroy planets who manage to form a very special friendship on an island in Hawaii. Fans of ‘Lilo and Stitch’ already know that it’s much more than just a fun children’s movie: It’s a moving and emotional story of personal acceptance, unconditional friendship and family above all (almost as much as in ‘Fast and Furious’).
After earning more than $250 million at the worldwide box office, ‘Lilo & Stitch’ instantly became a favorite of the new generation of Disney animated classics, and the mischievous blue alien is today one of the most popular mascots in the merchandising of the company. The film spawned a total of three direct-to-video sequels (better ignore them, honestly), a Disney Channel TV series, and even an 86-episode Japanese anime series.
It seems that it was released last year, but ‘Lilo & Stitch’ is already more than 20 years old and the mouse company has decided that it is time to make one of its live-action remakes of Disney with Dean Fleischer-Camp, the director of the recently nominated Oscar Award ‘Marcel, the shell with shoes’.
This is everything we know about the new live-action version of ‘Lilo and Stitch’: Release date, cast, trailer…

‘Lilo and Stitch’ live-action: Release date
The live action remake of ‘Lilo and Stitch’ will premiere directly on Disney+ for the summer of 2024. Specifically, on May 10, 2024.
‘Lilo and Stitch’ live-action: Cast
Zach galifianakis (‘The Hangover’) was the first person to join the project at the beginning of 2023, and although the first rumors suggested that he would be the voice of the alien protagonist, everything seems to indicate that chris sanders will once again put his iconic and characteristic voice at the service of Stitch’s madness.
Galifianakis is likely to play one of the two alien hunters trying to hunt down the missing alien, Jumba and Pleakley. the other could be Billy Magnussenwho we recently saw in the live-action remake of ‘Aladdin’, which has also been announced in a role to be confirmed.

What is clear is that Lilo will be played by Maia Kealoha. And… Look at the photo. In other words, Disney has created quite a lot of controversy lately with the cast of its remakes, but it is undeniable that Maia IS LILO. The role of her older sister, Nani, has also been confirmed and her role will be played by Sydney Agudongnative to the island of Kaua’i (Hawaii).
