The characters of “The Simpsons” have already been recreated in a realistic version with amazing results, but as a series created in the late 80s, we can now see them as they actually starred in a comedy of that decade.
All thanks to AI and programs like Midjourney, where artists and fans create things like a live-action “Zelda” with Tom Holland or a scary version of “Spirited Away” with real actors.
In this case, the AI imaging algorithm was used to recreate what the Springfield characters from the cartoon would look like if they were in a real program.
This Is What ‘The Simpsons’ Would Look Like If It Was A Live-Action Movie From The ’80s, According To IA
Images of the yellow family and other Springfield residents can be seen in a couple of YouTube videos posted by ‘The Pharaoh Nerd’ channel.
On them are placed the images with musical themes that remind us of the intros of famous 80s comedies, such as “Cheers”, “Family Ties”, “Family Matters” or “Alf”.
The images even show what iconic places from the cartoon would look like in real life, such as the Simpsons house at 742 Siempreviva Avenue, the nuclear plant and even Moe’s Bar.
However, since many of the characters in the animation have geometrically shaped or overly exaggerated hair, when trying to recreate their hairstyles the results are somewhat terrifying.
Such is the case of Marge, Bob Patiño or Bart’s faithful friend with blue hair Milhouse Van Houten and Krusty the clown who has his characteristic green hair.
There are others that in their human form look a lot like what many imagine their cartoon counterparts would look like in real life. Even the videos go so far as to recreate the Simpsons pets.
In the second video there are more well-known and even darker characters from the series, such as Grandpa Simpson, sexy Ned Flanders in a ski outfit or Murphy “Bleeding Gums”.
The video features many more characters such as the green aliens from the series and even the creator of the video points out that the AI made the image of the lawyer Lionel Hutz look like the actor Bob Odenkirk from “Better Call Saul”.
As with many of these AI-generated images, some are very impressive and others are not quite what you’d expect.
