We can divide the many animated films of the Disney empire into two categories. On the one hand, we have films exclusively featuring animals. For example, for the first feature films, we can think of Bambi or Robin Hood, and at the end, Zootopia of Pixar studios. On the other side, there are films, much more numerous, where animals touch the human world.
It goes without saying that from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937 to Avalonia in 2022, animals are everywhere in the world of Disney. If we were content to mention only people’s favorite pets, cats and dogs, we would already end up with a very long list.
For cats, in addition to the very many cats of “Aristocats”, we can express (not provoke) the evil bag Lucifer from the movie “Cinderella”, as well as the cunning Si and Am, the Siamese Lady and the Tramp. Or even, in a newer and nicer version, Mochi the Japanese Bobtail of New Heroes.
The first appearance of a dog in the world of Disney movies – aside from the horde in Bambi – is Pato, Cinderella’s lazy dog who only thinks about sleeping. Others have since gone on to play leading roles, such as Pongo and Perdita from 101 Dalmatians, or Lady and the Tramp from the film of the same name.
Most of these animals can of course also be seen on movie posters. We’ve highlighted some of them by zooming in. Can you identify these nine copies?
