The Rossoneri had won the first leg in Milan
AC Milan drew 1-1 with Napoli on Tuesday (18) in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and progressed to the semi-finals of the competition for the first time since 2007.
Having already won the first leg 1-0, Milan played for an equalizer at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium in Naples.
The match got off to a good start with chances for both teams. In the 21st minute Olivier Giroud missed a penalty thanks to a fine save by Alex Meret. At 42, the French striker redeemed himself and scored the visitors’ first goal.
Needing to score, Napoli launched into attack, but the chances didn’t turn into goals. In the 35th minute of the finals, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia had the best chance to level the game, but like Giroud he also missed his penalty thanks to a great save from Mike Maignan.
In the 48th minute of the second half, striker Victor Osimhen’s star shone, returning from injury, and Napoli reached a draw. However, there was no more time to react.
In the other match on Tuesday, Real Madrid had no difficulty and beat Chelsea, in London, 2-0. This Wednesday, the other two Champions League quarter-final matches will be between Internazionale and Benfica and between Bayern Munich and Manchester City. .
