On April 22, the Okko online cinema will present a documentary film by Daria Ivankova “Mikhail Gorshenev. The Legend of the King and the Jester. The screening will take place as part of the out-of-competition program of the 45th International Moscow Film Festival “Free Thought”. The first episode of the two-part project will appear on the platform on April 24th.
The film is dedicated to the Russian rock musician, leader of the cult punk band Korol i Shut. The creators position the tape as a documentary blockbuster about love, friendship and music. The authors of the project are screenwriter and director Daria Ivankova, and editing director Timur Fedorov. The film was produced by the MovieStart company.
In my opinion, this is a very large and in-depth work done with soul and love for the group, – says Andrey Knyazev, co-founder and one of the frontmen of the Korol i Shut group, about the film. – I know how difficult it was to gather information for this documentary. It was necessary to communicate with a large number of people, receive materials from them or approval for use. And also to gather all the main characters and talk with everyone. After watching the first part, I can say that this can be a real gift for fans and fans of the creativity of the group “Korol i Shut”.
Among the other heroes of the project are members of the Korol i Shut group Alexander Balunov, Alexander Shchigolev and Yakov Tsvirkunov, brother and mother of Mikhail Gorshenev, as well as many others who personally knew the cult musician.
