On May 5th it hits theaters.
‘The bad family’ is an unusual, authentic documentary film that for years has undergone a narrative transformation marked by the very reality of the people we will meet in it.
This documentary had its world premiere in Seville in the Nuevas Olas section. From there he undertook a long journey through different festivals, both national and international: the Rotterdam Festival or the BAFICI, a few days before its commercial premiere in Spain. It has also been awarded at other festivals such as the Márgenes Festival in Madrid (Honorable Mention by the Jury), Miradasdoc (Best National Documentary), IbizaCineFest (AC IbizaCineFest Special Award for Best National Feature Film) or the Murcia International Film Festival IBAFF (Award for the Public).
‘La Mala Familia’ introduces us to a group of friends who haven’t been able to see each other for a long time. Taking advantage of the prison permit of one of them, Andresito, they decide to meet again and enjoy a hot summer day on the outskirts of Madrid.. With the sunset, they will have to face a problem from the past that threatens to put them all in jail.
In the scene that we show exclusively in PHOTOGRAMS, we see the group of friends towards the beginning of the film. The night heat of Madrid joins the momentum of the boys: desire for fun, enjoyment, freedom… desire to live in general. Here it is not known how the night will end, but those illusions that are shared with the chosen families are appreciated, regardless of the paths that make us travel.
The directors of this project are Nacho Villar and Luis Rojo, members of the BRBR Collective, Recognized as one of the most promising emerging European talents, as evidenced by his inclusion on the prestigious Saatchi&Saatchi New Creators Showcase list. In addition, for their ‘Heroes of Today’ campaign, they received a Gold Lion and a Silver Lion in Entertainment for Sports at Cannes Lions 2019; and his work has been recognized at the CdeC, El Ojo de Iberoamérica, El Sol, Shots, Ciclope, Young Director Awards or Berlin Commercial festivals, among others.
